Our top 3 ISP choices in Blue Springs, MO

We recommend AT&T fiber, Xfinity, and T-Mobile 5G Home Internet as the top internet providers for Blue Springs, Missouri.

#1: AT&T fiber

AT&T fiber is the best option Blue Springs residents have for fast and ultra-reliable internet. Fiber-optic internet tends to work faster than other connection types, even for the same listed speeds. And AT&T fiber has reasonably good coverage in Blue Springs. But the city isn’t 100% covered yet, so you’ll still need to check your eligibility.

#2: Xfinity internet

Xfinity has excellent coverage throughout Blue Springs, where it offers cable internet plans with impressively high speeds (up to 1,200 Mbps). Almost no one really needs a gig worth of bandwidth, but if you happen to be one of the few who do, then Xfinity is an obvious choice. And even for lesser speeds, Xfinity is the most widely available internet provider in Blue Springs aside from satellite (which we don’t recommend).

#3: T-Mobile 5G Home Internet

T-Mobile’s Home Internet service is easy to set up and has widespread coverage throughout Blue Springs. People can often save money on internet plans with T-Mobile because T-Mobile doesn’t tack on a bunch of extra fees. Plus, this type of internet doesn’t need professional installation, and you can get some pretty good bundle deals if you have a mobile plan through the same company.

All internet providers in Blue Springs

Blue Springs has a relatively short list of internet service providers, so your choices are limited. Satellite internet is widely available here, but we don’t recommend satellite internet providers unless you don’t have another choice. And satellite aside, Blue Springs is restricted to a small handful of other companies.

Fastest internet providers in Blue Springs

AT&T fiber and Xfinity have the fastest internet speeds in Blue Springs. AT&T fiber goes as high as 5,000 Mbps and Xfinity can get up to 1,200 Mbps. We’ve even seen some addresses in Blue Springs have listed speeds of up to 2,000 Mbps from Xfinity, but this is more rare.

Ultra-high gig internet speeds like these aren’t necessary for the vast majority of people. You can easily get away with a quarter of a gig, and your family probably won’t even notice.

How much speed do you need?

When choosing an internet plan, you want to keep all of your activities running smoothly without paying extra for speeds you don't need. At the bare minimum, you need 25 Mbps to do light browsing on one or two devices. Most households with multiple people and multiple devices will want to look for speeds in the 100–500 Mbps range. Learn how much speed your household needs in our guide to internet speed.

Cheapest internet providers in Blue Springs

Xfinity is the cheapest internet service provider on our list due to its introductory pricing. Xfinity’s base prices look great, but keep in mind that they usually don’t include fees, installation costs, and any other small charges Xfinity wants to tack on to the overall cost. Your bill will also go up after the first two years.

Internet options in nearby cities

Blue Springs has more restricted internet provider options than some nearby cities. For example, Kansas City and neighboring Lee’s Summit have access to Google Fiber as well as AT&T, which gives residents more than one fiber company to choose from. Some nearby cities also have access to more fixed wireless providers, while Blue Springs has only a couple of options.

What Blue Springs residents are saying on Reddit

Blue Springs residents on social media are usually in threads about the general Kansas City area. But unlike Kansas City, Blue Springs doesn’t have access to Google Fiber, and people here use Xfinity internet rather than Spectrum.

Is the Internet in Blue Springs really this abysmal?

Just got an offer on a house accepted and was looking at ISPs available at the new address.

AT&T: 25mbps $55 Xfinity: 400/1200 Mbps DOWN 10/50 Mbps UP $50/$90 for 24mo Spectrum: not available

I use a lot of upload and a lot of data per month, and Xfinity has a $30 surcharge for unlimited data, their rates will also inevitably go up in two years by a LOT.

I saw a post from 7 years ago saying ATT was going around Blue Springs saying they were putting in fiber, but I guess not everywhere?

Anyone know any secrets I don't?

Most helpful response

You can thank Comcast for that.

They effectively convinced ($$$ to council members) Independence to block Google Fiber, which effectively blocked the Google Fiber rollout in every town East of Independence along I70. If Google couldn't lay lines through Independence, they couldn't effectively get to Blue Springs, Grain Valley, etc.

Moving to a area outside of google fibers coverage. My options are spectrum or AT&T. Which one sucks less?

I currently pay for the 1G speed from fiber. Does anyone have any experience with the other too providers?

Most helpful response

You may also have TMobile 5G home internet or Verizon home internet as an option. About $50 a month or less. Anything to keep away from those other TWO.
