Frontier internet plans start at around $50 per month and reach an extravagant $165. At the low end, you could get 500 Mbps of fiber internet for $50. But if you can get only Frontier DSL, this price tag could net you single-digit Mbps. It all depends on where you live.
At the high end, $165 will give you screaming fast 5 gigs of fiber internet. If you crunch the numbers, that feels like a ton of value. That’s just $0.03 per Mbps. However, that assumes you can actually use all 5 gigs. And due to a host of reasons, most of those Mbps will go to waste. Instead, we recommend Frontier’s 1 Gbps plan at around $80 for all the speed you’re likely to need—and then some. Most households do really well on 250 Mbps though, so even 1 gig might be overkill.
Frontier’s DSL plans are about the same cost as other DSL providers like CenturyLink. But if you’re considering DSL, you’re likely in a rural area. You may find faster, cheaper internet from a fixed wireless provider like T-Mobile or Verizon 5G.
Frontier’s fiber plans are a little more expensive than other providers like Google Fiber and AT&T, but they’re cheaper than Verizon Fios.
We gathered and analyzed reviews from more than 40 current Frontier customers. Most people think the service is good enough, but they’d like to see lower prices, higher speeds, or both. A few customers are unhappy with how often Frontier—like many other providers—changes its pricing, which leaves customers having to constantly shop around instead of sticking with a provider they know they like.

Frontier scored 5 out of 5 for equipment and installation because you can get up and running without these costs if you play your cards right. Self installation is free and so is basic equipment. Professional installation and Wi-Fi extenders cost extra, but these prices are reasonable.

When you sign up for Frontier, you could get $10 off a new YouTube TV subscription for a year. You have to be an entirely new YouTube TV customer. Occasionally, you may also see deals for around $10 off your monthly Frontier bill, a Visa gift card, and more.
In addition to internet, Frontier also offers home phone service. You can add phone service to your account for around $25 per month.
Canceling your Frontier service is about as easy as it gets. There are no contracts or service agreements, and thus no early termination fees to worry about. In some cases, there may be a $20 equipment restock fee for fiber equipment and a $50 restock fee on DSL equipment.
You'll have to talk to a live human to cancel, but you can either wait on hold or schedule a call. The rep is likely to try to talk you into staying, but once you confirm cancelation, they will give you information about how to return your rented gear.
Frontier participates in the Affordable Connectivity Program, which helps low-income households and people living on Tribal lands save money on internet. In addition to applying up to a $30 ($75 on Tribal lands) credit to your internet plan, Frontier also offers a low-cost internet plan for qualifying households. This plan is $30, so if you qualify for the full credit, you could have free internet.
